Anna Claudia AGAZZI

 

Born in São Paulo, Anna Claudia Agazzi is a pianist and piano teacher at the UNESP Arts Institute since 1996. Master in Piano Performance by Manhattan School of Music (NY / Bolsa Capes), Doctor in Arts by Unesp, she was a visiting researcher at University of Toronto between 2019 and 2020 for your Post research PhD (Fapesp scholarship).

 

Her piano teachers include Daisy de Luca, Antonio Bezzan, Yara Bernette and Nina Svetlanova. She received several national piano awards, with highlight for the Gried Award that took her to recitals in Norway, prize of the festival “Musica en Compostela” (Spain), Sulamérica Award (Palm Beach International Competition) and represented Brazil in festivals such as “Palaces of St. Petersburg” in Russia and “Festival di Bolsena” (Italy).

 

In addition to her performance as a soloist, Prof. Agazzi performed in chamber music recitals alongside Mark Dobrinsky, Michel Lethiec, James Campbell, Alvise Migotto, Quartet of the City of São Paulo, among others . She performed as a soloist with the São Paulo State Orchestra, and Orchestra Internazionale d'Italia. She was invited by the Master Class Label to record the first works of Ottorino Respighi, the Cd was very well received by the critics, and was relaunched integrating the album "Great Brazilian Pianists".

From 2010 on, she dedicated herself to experimental projects linked to her academic career, which were associated with sound ecology issues, such as the "Caminhos Sonoros" project, based on the philosophy of Murray Schaffer, which involved more than 60 Unesp students and 500 children in elementary public schools. She was the director of the Unesp Ritmo e Som Festival for two editions, one of them in tribute to Robert Schumann.

 

She is interested in the area of ​​curatorship and inter-disciplinary relations. In 2011, she presented programs for silent cinema films at the Cinemateca Brasileira and RECine National Archive Festival (RJ). Her work "Piano Installations - Con Anima", presents traditional works from the tradicional piano repertoire in dialogue with contemporary issues and other artistic languages. This work paved the way for several unusual piano performances, guided by her, such as series of videos “Desconcerto”, “Ebô para São Sebastião” and the annual realization of “Passeio Sonoro” - performance on an ecological trail.

 

Anna Claudia Agazzi is frequently invited to participate in creative, art direction and curatorship of exhibitions, such as the “Amazônia Mundi” exhibition and festivals, "Canada 150", “MIDEM - Brazil”, “Sintonias Canada Brasil Music Festival" and "Fitzcarraldo - Music in the Amazon".
