Helena JANK

 

She began her music studies in São Paulo. Helena Jank attended courses by José Kliass and Lydia Alimonda, perfecting herself on the piano with Hans Graf. She took the harpsichord undergraduate course in Munich (Germany), under the guidance of Li Stadelmann and Karl Richter. After successfully passing the final exams, she was invited by Karl Richter to continue her studies in the graduate course at his Meisterklasse, and at the same time to join the famous Bach Orchestra in Munich, which he directed. Receiving the title of Meister in harpsichord, she started an intense period of presentations and concerts that took her to several cities in Europe as a soloist and as a member of important chamber orchestras. She defended a doctoral thesis in music at UNICAMP in 1988, when her career was directed to academic research. She was coordinator of the Graduate Program at the Arts Institute of UNICAMP, between 1995 and 1999 and Director of the same institute between 1999 and 2003. She was responsible for the courses of harpsichord, chamber music and bass at UNICAMP and a teaching collaborator in the discipline History of Music, for baroque and classical periods. She is an advisor in several master, doctoral and scientific initiation projects.
